Some years ago when I first discovered computers I made this image with an Apple computer. I was thrilled that someone had designed a computer that you could draw with even if you had to use a mouse, thescree was postcard sized and the only output was black and white. I made a book of images called Leonardo's Computer Codex based on a drawing by da Vinci of the optic nerve. I collaged these, photocopied them and tried out a lot of computer variations. I also sent out a lot of blank ones into the Mail Art network and they returned collaged and altered. I made an exhibition of these in Middlesex Polytechnic in 1989.
If you would like to make a contribution to this project please click on the image above which will take you to a large scale (A4 & 57K) version which you can save to your machine (right click on the picture and go 'save image' in IE and similar in Netscape). Either print out the image and collage/draw/paint/alter the image and post it back (address on image) or open the image in your favourite image processing software and play about with it. Email it back to me as an attachment and I will include all images, emailed and posted, in the (e)mail gallery. Every ten entries I will post out a book.
